留学生の日本での生活

Living in Japan with a student visa

Vivir en Japón con un visado de estudiante ベトナム語でお願いします

How to life in Japan as a student.

First of all you (it might sound a little bit logic) you have to prove you have the basic studies before you go to study to Japan. For basic studies ,they mean you have to be done 12 years of education that will be from primary school to high school. There are exceptional cases where you can get the student visa haven’t done this but I don’t know any cases so I won’t talk about what I don’t know.

Once you can prove you have done until high school level of education you will also have to prove you have enough money to life in Japan for at least half a year without working. I think it is about 5000 euros, but you should ask the embassy of your country to be sure.

Once you’ve done all of this you have to apply for a school. There is different ways to get in but the easiest one would be going to a language school but it a bit expensive, you can also take the Japanese course in some universities. This language school writes you a letter of recommendation so the embassy could give you a document certifiying you can take the student visa when you arrive to Japan. It is not a difficult process but it can take time. You also have to pay to give the documents to the embassy.

When you have done everything they stamp you a visa paper in your passport so when you enter to Japan in the Airport in the immigration checkpoint they will give you , your 在留カード or residence card so you are legally living in Japan for at least 1 year. It depends on the period you will be studying there you can get a 1 , 2 o 4 years visa.

Introducing ourselves

Konnichawa, we are Mari (really easy name right?) and Điện(yep it is still difficult for me to pronounce it). As you could guess I am the Spanish one in this blog. We meet in Tokyo when we were studying in a language school call “Arc Academy”and we are together since then. So basically we are a Spanish and Vietnamese couple. :3

Our purpose is to help people who is or will be studying in Japan. We have different experiences because we came from different countries. Being an Asian or being an European /American in Japan really makes a difference. It has advantages and disadvantages in both but the motivation coming to Japan is quite different. As far as I see it , Europeans and Americans came to Japan because they like the culture, anime, language etc but it is because you really love it. However most Asians came to Japan because it will bring them better living conditions or getting hig.

I studied in a language school and took the N1 grade of the 日本語能力試験 and Điện is a current University student in Saitama. We both prepare for university exam call “EJU”. If you don’t know about it we will explain it in the next post. This is not the only thing you have to do to enter in to University but it is one of the requirements you have to send.

Actually I’m preparing for going to a graduate school in Tokyo so you can have two different point of view . If you want to do an Undergraduate program or a graduate program.
